Mud fights and slippery fish

Summer days in Northern Michigan are the best!!  There are so many great ways to fill a day, and today was no exception.  Micah and Elijah have been taking part in a two week session of tennis camp.  I love playing tennis, so I figure it is something we can do together.  They have been enjoying their time at camp along with learning to play the game of tennis they have had the exciting opportunity to watch a mother bird feed her babies in her nest.  Today Micah was thrilled to inform me that the last baby bird had learned to fly and left the nest.  What an exciting thing to watch throughout the last two weeks!

In the summer, Micah and Elijah alway beg me to take them to the farmers market.  There is a nice man there who hands out free samples of honey, plus they always hope that I will allow them to ride the train that runs through our open space in Traverse City.  I enjoy picking out fresh produce and looking at all the fantastic goods that are for sale.  This year, there is man who sells fresh fish from Lake Michigan.  The boys love to go to his booth and touch the fish.  This week we decided to buy a full trout  We stuffed it with onions, lemons and peppers and put the whole thing on the grill.  What a treat!

After the farmers market we hurried  to drop Micah off at his buddy Isaac's house.  After playing in Isaac's back yard for about an hour, I received this photo/text from Isaac's mom.

                                               "Sorry"

They are boys through and through.
